Ramona Bobocel is a Professor of I-O Psychology at the University of Waterloo and an internationally renowned organizational justice scholar. She studies fundamental questions concerning how employees form fairness perceptions and cope with unfairness, why unfairness persists in the workplace, and how organizations can promote fairness. Her research has practical implications for reducing conflict and for improving worker well-being and organizational effectiveness. Ramona's research has garnered continuous funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada for over 30 years as well as industry grants to support the application of her research. Her work is published in leading scientific journals and books in psychology and management.

Ramona is an elected Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Sciences, and the Canadian Psychological Association. She has served as Associate Editor of the flagship journal of the International Society for Justice Research, Social Justice Research, and has been a longstanding editorial board member on leading psychology and management journals. In addition to her research, Ramona has consulted with multiple Canadian organizations to improve fairness in the workplace.

Ramona has contributed significantly to developing and fostering I-O Psychology in Canada. She co-founded the I-O Psychology PhD program at the University of Waterloo and for 34 years has been a constant in building one of Canada’s leading I-O graduate programs. She has actively mentored many undergraduate and graduate students who have gone on to develop their own outstanding careers in academia and applied practice. Through her teaching, mentorship, and support, Ramona has produced a generation of productive scholars and practitioners. In 2022, she was awarded the Faculty of Arts Teaching Excellence Award in recognition of her contributions to teaching and mentorship.
Ramona has also contributed to I-O Psychology in Canada in other ways. She has been a devoted member of CSIOP serving in multiple roles on the Executive, including as Chair. She has also represented I-O Psychology in service roles on CPA committees and is a champion of I-O colleagues in CPA Award nominations.
